This is a hands on, in-depth lecture course covering all topics of storyboarding in Animation, Live-action, and Video games. Classes go for 3 hours and include refreshments. Through demonstrations, hands on learning, lecture, and film analysis, you will learn the guidelines to professionally stage and illustrate a scripted scene. This class is for all levels of experience from the most novice to the seasoned professional. Some drawing experience recommended, but not necessary. Classes meet every 4 weeks. Topics of discussion Screen direction- Learn when to use character and camera placement to your advantage to tell a clear and efficient story. You will gain a clear understanding of when to deviate from the norm and tricks on how to disguise screen direction flaws when there is no other alternative. Staging- Proper arrangement of your stage elements is crucial in telling your story. Learn to simplify and cheat your objects for dynamic effect. |
